    Making Something Flash White

    I'm using RGB Coefficient to make certain objects flash when hit - ideally I'd like to make them flash white, but I've had to settle on something like red (e.g. Set RGB Coefficient to GetRGB(255,0,0)) but I can't figure out how to make something flash white. I suppose it's not possible by playing with RGB Coefficient?

    anyone else managed to make an object flash white?

    IIRC you can’t flash white by changing rgb coef, maybe you need to write a shader as alternative.

    Thought as much. I try not to use shaders if I can help it. Unless the RGB Coef function uses DirectX anyway, then no big deal.

    I've used the Inverted display a lot over the years and it sounds like it'd give you the effect you're going for (or close to it).

    Like this-

    (Object is hit)

    -> Set Flag 1 of Object to ON
    -> Set Alt Value A of Object to 4
    -> Change Effect to Inverted

    (Then you have)

    Every 0.05 seconds
    + Object Flag 1 is ON

    -> Subtract 1 from Alt Value A of Object

    (Then you have)

    If Object Flag 1 is ON
    + Alt Value A of Object <= 0

    -> Change Effect to None
    -> Set Object Flag 1 to OFF

    ----

    So not super elegant but it'll for sure work.

    I do this using the Brightness shader and just max it out. Then, after a specified delay, set it back to normal without a shader. This works until you have something that already has a shader applied, in which case you may have to have a duplicate object laid over top that flashes white and then remove from the scene.
