    Question Is having many layers performance heavy?

    Just wondering, is there any performance impact on having many layers? Say the exact same events and same numbers of objects in a game, but one with 3 layers and another with 50 layers?

    I think you get performance impacts only if you use effects on layers, otherwise it should be about the same speed. Maybe someone else has measured it though, I've no precise numbers to give.

    I don't think so. I haven't measured, but that's because I've never felt the need to: I use many layers, and they've never given me reason to suspect that they're impacting performance. My game uses about 50 layers (my frame editor has layers up to about 110, though only about 50 are used in-game).

    No impact at all, even on mobile, did a test with thousands of layers VS single layers, spreading objects between those, no change in fps whatsoever.
