Gun doesn't switch position properly

Hi,

I have a 2d character that picks up a gun and when I move left the gun turns to the left position. When I move right the gun moves to the right position. The problem is when I move up with the gun being in the right position, the gun turns left. When I move down with the gun being in the right position the gun turns left. My character is in a 8 direction movement. I'm not sure why this is happening.

Have you tried changing the gun's movement to 8-directions?
