All sounds just stopped in Editor

    (build 294.14)
I am not sure when it happened; but i noticed none of the sounds can be heard when running the game inside the editor; its like the volume is Zero. it used to work fine, and at some point it stopped.

i can edit the sound, and click [Play] from the list of sound effects and they all work.
I can Build the game, and it works.

Steam // i verified the files - all good.
I checked my NON-steam version 294.14 - and the same files all work- sounds are ok.

I uninstalled STeam version, and Re-installed. - no sounds are working inside editor. any ideas?

Uninstalled Steam version; deleted the entire folder. Installed clean in Steam / no addition files added. tested playing a sample. I added a counter and if the sample was playing - the counter would increase - so it IS playing, but NO volume.
Saved the file / Opened the same file in Fusion (non steam) - and sound is present as normal.

Something is wrong with the STEAM version and sound volume ?!?!

Sounds like a Steam Version issue, but to be honest. I have had issues with Sounds from day one with Fusion in general. The solution was to always use .ogg sound files. I have 0 issues now.
Maybe try making one .ogg sound and try it in the Steam version to see if it works?

I use .ogg in everything now, including Android. Again, no problems. Although, I do not have the Steam Version to try it out. I have the Disc Version / Download Direct Version.

Have you checked Windows mixer to see if you haven't accidentally muted it?

sounds work when i go to the window which shows your samples and you can press [Play] <- ie edit sound ---- HOWEVER, i will tonight check the mixer just in case....
    * i have recently changed my video card - and am wondering if its possibly muted parts when the amd was removed and the nvidia went in??

-they work when app is built.
-they dont work in runtime when you test the frame or game.
-the same file works from within the runtime on the NON steam version. both are 294.14
the MMFU.ex is different sizes between steam and non-steam.

I cannot roll back the steam version. :/
files in steam are verified, and also have been fully deleted with vanilla install
other stuff/apps in steam dont have sound issues.

i was wondering if there's something in the runtime which has affected this when running your game/frame from inside the editor.

im kind of waiting for ver 295 so i can get past this issue (hopefully)

It's very unlikely that the issue comes from Fusion itself, that part was never touched in many many years...

I wonder if Windows is blocking the sound or making the Steam Fusion version not have foreground rights?
You might need to reset the Sound driver. Easy enough to do. Open Device Manager and Remove any sound hardware, including drivers. Then refresh. Windows will find the hardware and reassign the drivers.
    This might fix it.

no amount of removing drivers, amd software etc fixed it. i tried on another pc and it was ok.
i reloaded my OS (didnt want to) its fine. something corrupted in the OS when i changed video cards, and took out (some amd software - *still using amd chipset) and installed nvidia.
weird that it only affected 1 small thing when other parts worked. re: steam fusion. nothing else was affected including non-steam fusion.

anyway thanks for suggestions, nothing would work so i guess it was time telling me a fresh start. no files were lost in the making of this drama!

Been there, done that a few dozen times over the years. It's a pain for sure, but honestly. This install ( 7 ) has been working the best out of them all, for me. Because Windows!
Glad to hear it is up and running again.
