How do make a video play I'm my frame

When I made a test video and saved it as (.avi) and I put the avi extension in, then imported the .avi file and say it must play at the start of the frame. It showed a error message saying:
The specified file cannot be played on the specified MCI device.

    Ok I'll bite.... how then?

Ok... I would like to build an iOS app in Clickteam Fusion that plays back video files.
Any pointers on where to start? I can't even get a video file to play back in the Windows apps I make... let alone an iOS app.

    Thank you!
