    Re: Picture Editor stuff

What I think is annoying me is the fact that people are begging for the original animation editor, and other people are begging to keep the editor the same. However what we are REALLY asking, is for features from the original editor to be added to the new one. Things such as the animation player preview, and in my case... the ability to choose ONLY the animations I want to show up... taking into consideration that the way it is set up now, is very messy. (Having all the default animations include Walking, Stopped, Ducking, Running, etc.)

The only real solution to my second request is that the default for each direction, ONLY include Stopped. Then you can add more at will, later. Be it one of the default movement animations, or a custom animation. Like in MMF 1.5. I honestly think this would be more easier to forfill then most of the other requests, so if any priority was to be taken on each request, this and the animation player preview, should take that priority. Expecially seeing as more then myself has suggested it.

To put it bluntly, I think the rest of the "requests" are merly complaints that they dont like change. The new animation/image editor is fine, we just need to request some features that have been lost in the trip over.

00J, you keep suggesting that we should bite the bullet and smile through the pain. I just want the animation previewer. Without it it's very, very annoying for people who don't do the graphics in the MMF picture editor, and we really shouldn't have to resort to making all sprites in a different program, making editing smaller things in them complex.

Also, there were bugs in the old editor, yes, but not in what I want, the animation preview in the Animation Editor, and the way it functioned.

To add to this i can say that i've been making my animations in CnC and later putting them in MMF for years now. This is not a practice I'd like to continue, seeing as it was, at most times, extremely tedious and time consuming.

00J, I'm sure you know that people pay for this program, It's not handed to anyone for free. As costumers we have the rights to make certain demands.

With that said, I'm having a few problems seeing why Clickteam released MMF2 so early on without significant testing by the people who have been using MMF and other Clickteam products for years. Perhaps a better way to go about would have been to release the demo and wait a while longer to correct the things that people were displeased about.

I've seen a lot of great things about MMF2; some things that MMF1.5 lacked in terms of editors has been added and made more simplistic, but at the same time, some things that were good about MMF1.5 are lacking. Such as a preview window.

Perhaps a preview window could be done as a small separate window, like say, a pop up window at a webpage that can be enabled/disabled at will.

    Yes, of course. I'm one of those people. <img src="/center/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> $200.

Konjack. I can understand your frustration, it's like losing a finger when something your used to changes in
a bad way. Clickteam is listening...

I also didn't say I don't agree with what everyone is complaining about.

Obviously this is an unacceptable issue for some people.

All I can say is that I downloaded the demo and made my final decision to purchase MMF 2.0 based on what I found out. I was pretty sure before, but after using the demo for some hours I was convinced.

    Re: Picture Editor stuff

BrandonC, I dont understand why having all the animations listed is a problem. They are all blank frames so surely having them listed doesnt add weight to the overall size of your application (unless I am mistaken).

It is really annoying to have to insert the new directions I want constantly for the same animation. I dont know about other people but for me it is 'copy, paste, rotate'. It is very tiresome to do 'copy, right click, insert new direction, click on new direction, paste, rotate'.

So by having the default as stopped animation and the rest having to be created then it creates a lot of work for the rest of us.

Perhaps there could be a clear button above the animation list?
