    Re: MMF2 Add-On Obtainer

    New Version: 1.01Beta!
Get it at http://puchisoft.com/mmf2aohq/software.html (as usual)

This is a milestone in the path to allow non-MMF2AOs to be listed in the MMF2AO Manager. With other words, all extensions rather than just extensions in the convenient MMF2AO installer format. Of course, non-MMF2AOs will just bring up the author's website when you click "View", but that's the author's choice.

So the big new thing in this particular version is the DB Maker. I did not like the previous centralized approaches by websites similar to what this project is all about. An important aspect of this project, I feel, is that anyone can release their objects in the MMF2AO format, and that anyone can release databases for the Manager.
I do not want to be the dictator of which extensions get loving, and which do not. <img src="/center/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Anyone can now use the DateBase Maker tool (Select "Distributer-&gtB Maker" in the Manager) to make and edit their own database of MMF2AOs, and then distribute that to others. For users, opening such an .mmf2aoDB file will look just like opening the AddOn Manager directly, except the "Available Add-Ons" will be populated from the opened .mmf2aodb instead of the default Puchisoft-maintained database.

So authors of lots of add-ons/extensions could, for example, give out a .mmf2aodb file in addition to just directly linking to the .mmf2ao files. That way users can download all the author's extensions via the Manager, even before they are added to the Puchisoft database.

    This is great.[]http://www.smileypad.com/v224/Happy/Big-Thumbs-Up.gif[/]

Hey does the manager check if the third party extension is installed, because that would be really ace?
    ie.
Check if mfx version in runtime and edittime and report uptodate or not installed.[]http://www.smileypad.com/v224/Feelings/Eek.gif[/]

    Re: MMF2 Add-On Obtainer

OK, I just gave the Puchisoft database of add-ons/extensions some loving. The idea is that authors are suppose to make MMF2AO files and then submit them to me at Code6226@gmail.com, and then I add them. Lately, authors have been slacking, which is sad. hehe

But today, I got a present for you all. I went though Clickteam's "Released Extensions" forum and MMF2AO'enized all add-ons that had no license preventing this.
You can see the result at http://puchisoft.com/mmf2aohq/addons_all.html or of course, in the Add-On Manager.

Enjoy! But remember, authors, it's your job to give me the MMF2AO files. I'll do my best to post them ASAP.

"Hey does the manager check if the third party extension is installed, because that would be really ace?"
I'll try to add something like this later on.

    Re: MMF2 Add-On Obtainer

That great news, have you made any progress on the missing extension feature of your app, suggested some time ago?
