    Platform movement

I'm extremely happy about all the upgrades to movements. Good job, CT.

One thing that would be nice is an option in Platform Movement to be controlled by No Players, in other words, AI. Most Platform games are filled with enemy creatures that should walk around just like the player. In the past, I ran into two problems trying to use Platform movement with AI:

    1. It didn't work to well in MMF1 when you had more than one instance of the same object. Anyway that's fixed.
    2. It limits you to three human players, because you have to set all the enemies to Player 4 and ignore the controls of Player 4!

The simplest fix would be to allow Platform movement control by 1/2/3/4/none. Then a couple of events to handle collisions and direction+speed, and we're all set for platform AI!

That said, I did notice that for some reason you can't use Button 3 or 4 for jumping. Not that it really matters, it just seems odd. Also, I have wondered how hard it would be to increase the number of players or remove the 4-P limit. Then again, 4 is good enough for most games if you add the ability to be controlled by AI.

Right now I'm working on a 2-P game so I will probably make heavy use of the 4-P as AI trick, but I think my request is simple enough and it would be great for future 4-P+AI platform games.

Also, I was wondering how hard it would be to add a "Movement>Jump" action? So we can force a platform movement objectto jump?

I agree completely! The ability to control objects other than human players with the platform object would be great.

I agree as well. This would be a very good way to make platform enemies.

You could also easily make the player jump when he reaches a ledge, like in some platform-rpg games.

    Re: Platform movement

Hopefully CT will either add some of these features to the default Platform movement, or someone can make a new one with the SDK <img src="/center/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Really though, having a No-P option and "force jump" (or force up/down/left/right, for that matter, although those are easier to simulate) seem like relatively simple additions.
