Is add ink effect faster than alpha-blended

My guess would be that the additive ink effect would be faster than having an image with alpha chanel since the math is simpler. Is this correct?

    thanks

As an added question to the above, which would be faster?

Using the alpha channel to smooth edges, or using the anti-aliasing feature?

I think you are right, but you should compare them in a real application, as the alpha channel is handled by a dedicated routine and the additive ink effect is handled by a routine that is shared by the other ink effects (i.e. is a little slower than a dedicated routine).

Faster and much better looking if you know what you're doing. <img src="/center/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
