    Re: Qualifiers in behaviors?

Francois stated the reasons in this post back in 2003:
[]Use of qualifiers in global and local objects : no it is impossible. To define an event, I need to know in advance the type of the object used by the event (being an active, counter, string etc). In a global event list, I cannot predict the type, so the event is defined with one type and may not work in some of the frames. I do not think it will be possible to change that in MMF2.[/]
I still don't know why MMF cannot just force the object shortcut to a specific object type, but I guess that's why I didn't programme MMF2 <img src="/center/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />.

A qualifier should be global too imo. That is, if a qualifier is assigned to an active object, that qualifier can only be used for active objects in the entire game, not just on that frame.

That could be awkward for backwards compatibility... Although perhaps you could be given the option on import of reassigning other qualifiers. If you'd used lots of qualifiers to mean different things on different frames though...

    Re: Qualifiers in behaviors?

It's a good suggestion, guys. We do need better support for both global stuff and qualifiers.

I didn't realize anyone used Qualifiers on anything other than Active Objects...
