Thread: Set Speed, Start, Stop doesn't work

    Set Speed, Start, Stop doesn't work

    So I have an active object, bouncing ball movement type that I'm shooting from a ship like a laser or a torpedo. But I have multiple ship choices and they all have their own stats. So I want to be able to shoot the object, then change its speed immediately based on that player's "phaser speed" value.

    The reason I have to shoot it *then* set it is that there's no option to calculate the speed value in the "shoot object" action.

    No matter what I do, set speed does nothing to the speed of the object. In fact, start and stop do nothing to it, either.

    You can't use the shoot object if you want to control the speed.
    (it is something I wish we could get control of)

    You will need to event your creation so your using a normal object and do the movement that way.

    You can't use the shoot object if you want to control the speed.
    (it is something I wish we could get control of)

    You will need to event your creation so your using a normal object and do the movement that way.

    Hmm, I see... so do a Create Object action, then set the speed (and make it "look at" the target is that's part of the behavior - to reproduce the shoot object's ability to shoot in the direction of another object).

    I'll try that. But set speed doesn't work for my ships, either, and they're not created with the shoot object action.

    Generally, you can't set the movement speed higher than the maximum speed with out first adjusting the latter.
