    VERY Strange Bug

Did you come here to help me, or did you just like the title? Lol.

Anyways, I'm making a game and I've run into this very strange bug with the active object. To have a fade in and fade out, while objects are still moving, I have a big 640x480 active object covering the whole screen that is solid black (and it works suprisingly well). At the start of the frame I set it's semitransparency to 0 and every frame, I add 2 to it, then when it is 128, I just leave it be. That works great. Then if you select 'quit' it is supposed to fade out, but it doesn't. It simply isn't there. I looked in the debugger, and it does exist. I added a counter just to see and it's semi transparency is counting down, as it should. It is set to visible. It's position is still 0,0. The screen is still centered on 320x240. It still goes to the 'you'll be back' frame when its semitransparency is 0. All of it's animation frames are 100% opaque. It's ink effect is even set so it has no transparent color. The video options are all standard (not DirectX or anything). It just isn't drawing the stupid thing. Can anyone help me out here. I would rather not post it up here for all the world to see, but I could PM it to somebody.

Can you put a link to the application? I want to see it for myself because I don't quite understand your problem

    Re: VERY Strange Bug

    1) Try making it get less opaque at the end and see if the screen gets brighter.
    2) Make sure your game over event only gets called once (with a run this event once condition)
    3) Try making the object green or white or some other colour. This may be a bug with using pure black. In fact, 0x010101 would probably be the best colour to use to check this.
    4) What colour depth is your game using? Try it in true colour mode if it isn't already. (keep a backup of the current version though)

If none of those fix it, you should talk to Yves / Francois

    Re: VERY Strange Bug

The transparent color flag is off, so 0,0,0 color would appear pure black. It is in true color mode.

It only gets called once. I know that because the semi transparency value is changing exactly as it should, but the object just isn't being displayed.

I'm just kindof hesitant to post up a link, because I've been working on it for quite some time and the last thing I want is somebody to jump in and take it.
