User define fields for all objects

In the properties box and on the events tab you have the ability to add qualifier and behaviors. Would it be possible to add the ability to add user defined fields for adding metadata to the object. For example you would click "add metadata" and it would ask for a label name and then a value.

For example, lets assume I am using an edit object and will be connecting to a SQL database. I would like to add some metadata fields like fieldtype, user group id, etc.

Then my program could use this information for security access to the field or defining the type of field to be support by the SQL table, like text or memo field.

Some of this I could do using the static text object but I would like this abilty for all object by default.

Yes, this is close what I am asking for. I would like to see all objects have the ability to be able to have user defined fields for attaching metadata to the object itself.
