Adlib emulation

This could make a challenge for extension coders, perhaps. :P

A few programs (like DOSbox and VDMsound) use Adlib sound emulation. I think ModFX has this too, and it can play a few Adlib song files.

Now I was wondering if someone could try to make an Adlib note generator with this kind of emulation. Perhaps an option to play a few types of Adlib song files too, and some channel management. This would enable a few people to make their games more like Apogee's originals.

This is especially important for me, because I am creating a Keen fangame, so some original sounding stuff (but in the Adlib sound) would be nice.

Anyone up to it? At least I (and some other people, I dunno who but I guess there are people) would appreciate it very much.

EDIT: after looking a bit through other topics, maybe a sub-extension to a (future, of course) MIDI extension could be made which uses Adib emulation instead of MIDI, somehow...

I doubt it. I'd prefer a V synth extension. for playing music created for demos. Or a Buzz machine reader type extension

The Adlib is cool, You might want to check out Adlib Tracker II if you want to write your own music with it. It's the only tool for writing Adlib music that still gets updated that I know of.

That I know, and I have it and it runs well. A simpler suggestion therefor is: could someone make an extension that runs a few or more than a few of these kinds of Adlib files?
