    [feature request] Point of collision

Hi, one of the biggest problems of MMF2 is that when 2 objects collide, that's all you have to go on. You need to be able to find out where the collision occurred, or if there is more than one spot, like 2 or more pixels are overlapping each other, then the average collision point.

I've tried doing this in events, but it is buggy and it is very slow, even on a small 32x32 object.

Apparently, it's quite hard to implement? I'm pretty certain that's been requested before.

If it could be done, it'd be great (for achieving spark effects when a vehicle hits a wall, for example. The position of the sparks you generate will differ greatly depending on whether you hit the left or right side)

Or even to simply keep something from moving into a wall but still be able to 'slide' along it.

Re: [feature request] Point of collision

It's not the kinda thing that MMF2 would do (be to slow) but someone needs to make a program that finds the trajectory of all the objects so you can work out mathematically where objects will collide.

+ You could detect collisions that haven't happened yet
+ Collisions wouldn't be missed with small objects

    - You would have to rebuild object movement to follow trajectories rather than the other way round.

Its a very interesting point.Even the old ZX Spectrum had a
command called Attributes which could detect collision etc by colour. It woul be great if we could have this in MMF but who
knows how hard this would be to add.

Well then I'd like to atleast be able to find out the angle in which the collision occurred. How does that builtin bounce function work if it can't find the angle?
