    Fast loops

I'm new to Multimedia Fusion Dev, and I'm trying to learn how to use fast loops. I've consulted both the wiki and the User's Manual, but neither have been much help.

The User's Manual says to set up a loop, I should "Open the action pop up menu of the special object, and open the Fast loop submenu. [I] will find an action called 'Start Loop'. This action asks for two parameters..." however, when I click New Condition>Special, there is no "Start Loop" option, only one that says "On Loop"

Where can I go to learn how to use loops? And, as a broader question, is there any resource I can use for the less obvious intracacies of MMFD, such as how to use expressions, loops, etc? The wiki seems incomplete and the User's manual is sparse in its information. Thanks!

    Thanks!

    Re: Fast loops

It's under the special conditions column

Start Loop has to be started by an event; it isn't an event itself

    "You can do something like:"

    Start of Frame
Start loop #0 for 200 loops

    On Loop #0
    Add 1 to Global A

"then display what Global A holds"

    Re: Fast loops

The CickWiki will eventually be the best place to learn loops etc, but in the mean time.

First you create a condition that you want to trigger a loop.
In the event editor, lets say "mouse clicked"

Now you must tell the loop to start, so you need an action, which you can find in the "Special conditions Object" fast loops sub menu items. Choose start loop.

You will have to give your loop a name and number of loops you would like to do.

Now to act on the loop what you need to do is set up a new condition called "On loop" which of course ask you for a name.

Now lets say you want to add to the list object the loop index. You add an action say add line. In the expression evaluator you retrieve the value of the loop index.

Now you've set up a basic loop.

    Thats it.

I've added these comments to the wiki here.
