    Fine collision bug

I'm sure this is a problem that has sprung up recently because I should have noticed it before now if it had always been there.

In build 243, when I set an active to NOT have fine collision, the objects that collide with it will not have fine collision either as long as they interact with this object, and I am fully certain this is a bug that has appeared recently. Both that I haven't noticed before, and also that it really seems like a bug.

    Re: Fine collision bug

Please post an example file. Also check to see if it only applies to the first layer or to every layer except the first.

    Fine, here is the example.

It's actually called fine DETECTION in MMF, but I think you know what I mean.

I expected this to be adressed sooner...

Or someone tell me I need to install some other version or something.

    Re: Fine collision bug

    Use fine detection.
Available for active objects only. If checked, the collisions with this object and the others will be pixel precise (transparent areas do not trigger a collision). If unchecked, the collision will be done in box mode, with the rectangular box that surrounds the object.

It would appear that if one of the actives is unchecked then it defaults to the box mode for collision detection. It worked that way in MMF1.5 as well.

    Re: Fine collision bug

I just tested in MMF 1.5

I guess it does the same, but I wonder why it didn't affect me until now.

But shouldn't it work like my previous attached file shows anyway? It would seem more efficient because the "no fine detection" should only apply to one of the objects, I'd think.

    Re: Fine collision bug

Its interesting isn't it. There are so many undocumented features of MMF2. Thats why I am such a fan of the ClickWiki. Every time I stumble upon something, I add it to the Wiki. If everybody did that , we would soon have a really advanced understanding of developing in MMF2.
