    Recording?

Is it possible to record sound emitted from the computer in MMF 2? I remember it was a quite useful feature (for me) in MMF 1.5. Does the feature still exist somewhere?

    Re: Recording?

Do you mean you want to play a audio file and record it at the same time? Or play a video and record the sound?? I'm a little unclear on what you mean by "record sound emitted from the computer".

    Re: Recording?

I think he means record the sound which is usually sent to the speaker.

    Re: Recording?

lol, k, no kidding, uhm, so, well, i dunno if that is possible, i think not. Someone would need to write an extension that records all outgoing sounds, or records the speakerchannel of the soundcard. The last option is supported by most recent soundcards (like Creative) but people that do not have sush a soundcard can't do it. So i can imagine that you want to make it soundcard indepandant.

    Re: Recording?

If you set your input device to stereo/wave/whatever, then I think you can use the MCI object to record this output channel. There should be some examples on the old forum for recording using the MCI object.

    Re: Recording?

I mean for making samples. In MMF 1.5 you could make a new sample and record whatever sounds are being sent to the speakers. This was useful for combining samples and saving audio files of what the MS text-to-speech engine says.
