    Need help with Zip Object...

Is there an issue with the zip object's ability to detect when a file has been unzipped?

Take a look at my example file?

    unzip_issue.mfa

It closes the app even though I didn't set it to unzip anything...?

Your example you actually have to unzip a file.
If it is unzipped without a problem I expect it generates a condition that everything worked ok.

Re: Need help with Zip Object...

    Thanks for testing this...

That's just it --- I DIDN'T unzip a file. I would like it to ONLY trigger that event after I unzipped a file.

    for instance:
    1.Timer = 1 sec ---> unzip file "x"

2.File unzipped successfully? ---> next frame

when I try to do this, it doesn't appear that it waits for the file to finish unzipping before jumping to the next frame...(rule 2 is always "true")

Even if I toss in an active object into the frame, and have it turn on one of its flags in the end of rule 1, and then add the condition "is flag 0 on?" on rule 2...

I don't want it to go to the next fram until the file has been unzipped...

There may be a bug in the object,

Im not sure I might be not understanding. but you know the condition only works for the object unzipping not for third party unzippers.

Yes, this is NOT for any third party zipping programs.

I am just looking to have the app unzip a file, and then, after it is done unzipping, to go to the next frame. I don't want to just set a timer to make it go to the next frame...

I noticed a funky thing with using a counter to display the u
unzip progress, but that really isn't important...

Re: Need help with Zip Object...

lol, i happened to be involved with the development and the release of the object. There is NO bug. The object is 100% okey. Jeff of ClickTeam is also see ghost fly arround.

All thats spooky about it is because it's not as easy as we are used with released extensions. And its not really documented either.

    Okey, here is your solution:
You can easly solve this to check if a ZIP is unzipping or not (to me very logical todo). When you add this it only fires when a zipfile is actualy loaded into the memory (opened) and unzipped. I will write you an example that demonstrates this object works all fine. Actual, 2 examples have been written already quite a while ago that demonstrate the full working and power of this great object.

Re: Need help with Zip Object...

Ok, I am goofy, what I need it to do is to unzip one zip file that has perhaps ten files within it, and then exit after the entire archive has unzipped...

It seems to unzip ONE of the ten files, then it exits...?

TDA I sure you look at the ClickWiki, and it probably didn't help you.

    http://www.clickwiki.info/index.php/Zip_Object

If you could please add what you have learned to the usage section of the zip object. It will be a great help to others that are doing similar things in the future.
