    No more MIDI music!

I've just discovered that MMF2 (243) is no longer playing my MIDI music in my game! I can't determine when exactly it occured, since the level I'm currently working on uses a WAV for music, but I assume it was recently. I can play MIDIs with Windows media player, so it's not my computer...when I click the event to open a music file, and hit "play" in order to preview it, it "plays", but there's no sound. It doesn't play in the runtime either. Does anyone know what this could be?

A file path error most likely.

Well, this occurs even when trying to load new music...I'm pretty sure it's MMF2, but I can't figure out why.

Something must be happening/changing with Windows as this type of report seems to be coming in from random people the last few weeks.

Yves will need to look around and see whats going on so I don't think it will be a quick fix or anything your doing wrong.

Rather it must be some change in Windows itself.

Some System Files has changed with installing IE7. I have a translation software that has completely quit working by that. Maybe that's the troublemaker?

Well good idea but MIDI files seem to work fine on my computer and it has IE7. I am also pretty sure it has every single update released by Microsoft.

Its really confusing but I know once Yves gets a chance to dig into it he can figure it out. When I spoke to him before about it he did mention he planned to make some changes in those routines to improve them as they used some very old technology.

@since the level I'm currently working on uses a WAV for music

Use the Ogg vorbis format, it's like mp3 (compressed format) only better, free and supported by MMF2.

You should be able to find a free converter on the net, I think RazorLame might be able to do it.

Plus Ogg issues have just been fixed in the latest build.

    Re: No more MIDI music!

When I converted one of my games from MMF 1.5 119 to MMF 2 243,the midis plays ok.
But I got an annoying high tone in the beginning of each level before midi plays.I think its been mention before.
