    Launch App with relative path...issue

This happens both in MMF1.5 and MMF2. I think it might be a windows/dos thing. I dunno. It's 5AM, and I'm starting to see things. *waves to pink bunny*

Anyway, and stay with me here:
-I want to start another application from my own
    -This app is located at Appdrive$ + Appdir$ + "OtherApp.exe"
    -This works usually

However, let's say our path is this:
    "C:\Bob\Cool Dude\OtherApp.exe"
    It will still work.

However, it will not work if there is a file here:
    "C:\Bob\Cool"
Yes, a file named "Cool" with no extension, in the folder "Bob".
If this file exists, MMF is unable to launch any applications in the "Cool Dude" folder.

My problem is that this "Cool" file gets generated somehow. It took me about 2 hours to figure out why my program was unable to start another app from this one particular folder, but worked in any other folder -- and all this happening very randomly too!

I want to blame the YASO's file association as to being the one who made this "Cool" file, but I don't have any proof. I solely speculate this because my file association went crazy around the same time this issue appeared.

I'll try to figure out more, maybe...hehe

Put quote marks at the start and finish of your command line will work. I tried copy and pasting the path into an edit box and then getting a condition off a button. Had to add quote marks. And yes I got the bug to happen. I've seen this before its a windows thing. I never know about the blocking effect of the filename as a bit of the directory name but. Good detective work.

Heres what I think might work in the expression evaluator.

    """"+Appdrive$ + Appdir$ + "OtherApp.exe"+""""

If I remember right that should generate a single quotation mark at the start and at the end. To debug it just create a edit box and use it to display the final text makeup.

Yes, because if there are spaces in the name and it's not in quotes then windows assumes that the program/file name ends at the first space, with the rest being program command-line parameters. It's now clever enough to attempt to join across the space if it doesn't find a file with a name that ends at the space, but if it does find one it'll try to use that.

Btw, some (rare now) programs that do dodgy command-line passing using linux-style -(dash)params can be renamed to include the params and it will think that they were actually passed on the command-line.

Ah, neat trick. I may have to resort to that if this file keeps spawning. I have no idea why that file would spawn at all...

YASO File associations did always seem to have a 1% chance of Crazy happening though, I think. haha

Perhaps I should not just associate every time my program is run.
