[Request] Window Dragging Object for MMF2

I know, I know... you can do it all with events and the Window Control Object. I'm doing that, but it would just be sooooo much easier to drag my Apps (and many sub-apps) around if I could do it with one event and one action. I believe the 1.5 way of doing this was:

On mouse click => Move Window with Mouse.

    ...now that's the good life!

    anyone, please?

Re: [Request] Window Dragging Object for MMF2

what do you mean... in your example file I counted 3 needed lines of code, all using Global Values, in order to Drag the window around... I'm actually trying to get away from needing to use Global Values to drag my windows around. So far, everytime I add a Sub-app, I need to assign 3 more Global Values to the new Sub-app to move it around. I think it'd just be a whole lot easier to throw in an object and one line of code every time I create a new Sub-app. make sense?

I've written the code for you. If you don't want the effects then you only need two values which you can record in the alterable values of one of the objects in your frame.

    There is no point in:

A: Someone making it because you can do it in "3" lines of code
B: Using the extension anyway as it would take up space in memory and on the hard drive.
C: Using it because you can have much more control over actions

sweet... I just tried your Alterable Value of an Active idea. Works great! Easy to copy and paste the object and events from frame to frame...

so ends my whining for a Window Dragging Object!

    thanks, raytrace.

    thanks, raytrace.
Rather than drag an drop events etc. Create a behavior inside the window control object. Rename the object Window dragging Control Object. Save the MFA my special behaviors and then add a link to the folder in the library toolbar. Then instead of worrying about copying a whole pile of stuff you can focus on just your own special object. It just as if you have created your own object.

this is too much... I've made my first object (not really, but it almost feels that way!)

except for the "put a shortcut in the Library" part, everything works great! I now have immediate access to an often-used function.

thanks, joewski, for the great tip!
