MMFs internal list of objects bug?

I know in MMF 1.5 you cant compare Val A of object 1 with value B of object 2, if there were more instances of both.

But in MMF2 it looks like it doesnt work even for one instance.

    There are:

    1)Y pos=Y val --- Add to A 1

    2)Y pos <>Y val ---Set A to 0 and Y val to Y pos

    3)
    Y pos=Y val
    +Val A greater or equal to 100 --- destroy

It should work for all instances, but it process them one by one. I think this work in MMF1.5 without looping.

    Take a look please

Are you using qualifiers? That would explain everything.

No qualifiers, this looks like a large "gap" in what MMF should be able to do. Im almost sure in 1.5 it worked, but dont want to install 1.5 again to check

No it does not work in 1.5 either. The exploration loop is only done for the alterable values, not for the Y position, as the Y position is actually an expression. It is impossible to explore all the objects in an expression, as this would imply very quickly a huge number of loops slowing down the application.

    To Francois:

Eh, but it does even when 2 objects are overlaping!

    When A overlaps B
    +Y of A=Y of B

It doesnt work either for more instances ://

Re: MMFs internal list of objects bug?

It does seem to be the same in 1.5, but it's not how I remember it either.

It's just that it works differently between actions and expressions. For actions when you use "retrieve data" it retrieves the data from the current object, so "Set Alt Y to Y pos of self" works as you'd expect. In a condition though, it retrieves data from the first object every time, so it becomes "Compare Alt Y against Y pos of first object of our type".

How come this hasn't come up sooner? It's a serious limitation.

    Yes I think so.

    When A overlaps B
    +Y of A=Y of B

This really should work! I think the workaround is always --set val Y to Y positions to all objects and when overlapping compare their Y values..this will work (I seriously work).

But its strange, when overlapping it should check just these two overlapping objects even with their coordinates

Damn, it doesnt work for just alt. values either!

When there are few instances of only ONE object you cant compare their alt. values without looping :/

Like alt value A=alt value B
