    MMF2 went bad!

No musics (midis and mp3s) work in mmf2 now, I tried reinstalling it but it didn't do anything. Some of the game my friends sent me will now not play music. HELP! [cry]

    1. It could never play MP3s without the DirectPlay object.
    2. Are you using play music or play sample to play the MIDI?
    3. Can you play WAV files?
    4. Make sure your MIDI volume in Windows isn't turned down low.
    5. If it is enabled, disable Data Execution Prevention protection.

Where is Data Execusion protection? Is it in MMF 2 or in Windows? Have not been able to find it.

    Re: MMF2 went bad!

    Look under:
    Control Panel
    System
    Advance
    Performance Settings
    Then the Data Execution Prevention

They can turn off DEP or they can add the MMF2 created program to the list of programs excluded to the DEP check.

I have also heard this problem should be corrected in the next MMF2 update.

    Re: MMF2 went bad!

This is quite a large part of the reason I still haven't installed Service Pack 2.

Some firewall or people turn it on as it is off by default.

Don't be scared DavidN I have used Service Pack 2 for ages and it seems to be OK LOL! (famous last words)
