[Request] Super String, Super Text Blitter

Many people (including me) for a long time ask for a Text Blitter extension but with variable width chars and alpha channel support, among other things.

I just realized that the Counter object is already capable of the above, and it comes in standard with MMF2. So I ask the question to CT who (I think) developed the object, and to the extension devs:
Would it be possbile to have some sort of Super String object, derived form the current Counter object? It would work in a similar way, i.e. we could have a picture/frame for each character [A-Z][a-z][0-9]. Like the Counter object which has a frame for each of its numbers [0-9].

    Excellent Idea Oliver!

Its something a have heard before and thought it would be cool.

A couple very nice users are currently doing a lot of work on the SDK and will be making some good helpfiles and examples. Hopefully more and more people start using it and this idea comes to life.

Re: Super String, Super Text Blitter

    Thank you Jeff.

Yves said that it is possbile to add a "Bitmap" option to the String object by adaptating the routines of the Counter object, and by adding an option to the animation editor. He added this request to the wishlist but said that it was quite a bunch of work and that maybe it won't be available before MMF3. (!)

Hopefully an extension developer will be able to tackle this earlier. Maybe with the help of Clickteam since they wrote the Counter and String objects? Since CT is missing time and programers I'm suggesting the following:
I know that making people pay isn't really part of CT's policy, but maybe things could get done faster if this extension would be a premium/paying extension? It could even be part of a premium/paying Extension Pack for MMF2Dev only?

If CT could work with extension developers and share the benefits of premium extensions with them, then more developers might be interested in developing (pro) extensions? That's just an idea.

I don't mind hiring a developer to do this extension then give it away to all MMF2/MMF2 Developers for free.

As long as the price is affordable.

I have asked a couple guys to think about it ... hopefully one of them can take the job and get it done.
