    Looping MODs played through MMF2

The playback for MOD files through MMF2 such as .IT and .XM is very crisp and clean compared to ModFX3, but there's a hitch.

MMF2, while supporting an effect such as portamento, fails to loop my songs where it should. I loop songs by either setting the loop point for the song in Modplug Tracker, or using the effect "position jump". Neither work.

Am I missing something or is this a major bug?

The in-built support for MOD files just treats them as samples without taking account of pattern/looping information - ModFX3 plays them correctly.

Is there a difference in sound while playing them through the sound object and ModFX3?

Yeah, there's a large difference in quality. It's the only reason I'd use MMF2's player instead of the size-saving WGM format.

The quality only seems to deteriorate with my hardware-like samples, which I don't intent to replace because it would change the feel of the game.

Here's an example, and I'm sure you'll hear the difference. First part is how it sounds through MMF2's player and how it sounded when I made it, the second part is how it sounds played through ModFX3.

As you might hear, there's even stereo effect problems with the extended notes.

EDIT: Before anyone says it, changing sample rate in ModFX doesn't work. If I make my songs into WTF format, which is also made by Josh, it sounds just as bad.

If MMF2 has the ability to play MODs to begin with, and don't let them loop right, what's the point? [confused]

Soooo will there be a loop fix?

I keep noticing my threads go unreplied to by the Clickteam people. And whenever I point it out one of you reply in some angry way and ignore the issue.

I guess my saying so won't help anything. :/

    Correct, that doesn't help.

This question has already been answered some time ago, it's in the "to check" list but has not yet been addressed. I don't know at all yet if it's fixable.

PS: we have no time to answer all the posts, but we usually read them all and write bug reports and suggestions to an internal list.
