    RPG + Mode7 = Perspective?

    Hey d00ds,

    Thos guys used Mode7 to add perspective to their RPG game.
    ( As you can see in: http://www.rpg-palace.com/scripts/mode07/grassland.jpg )

    Is there anyway todo this in MMF2 with Mode7?
    I couldn't seem to figure out how

    Hmmm... everything looks flat, so you should be able to achieve the same effect with the perspective object. I think it would work better than mode 7, especially is you are using a higher resolution than 320 x 240. And since you are using MMF2, you should be able to use layers for creating a stationary sky on one half of the screen, and the scrolling ground with the perspective object in another layer.

    I don't understand what is wrong with using the MMF Mode7 object?

    Should work fine with mode7 in MMF - the only thing that could get complicated is preventing the player from walking in the water.

    - or making big enough maps
    Huge bitmaps for the maps aren't the best solution

    the main problem of the mode7 extension is that it gets really slow when your window is not tiny... but if you just wanna give you're 2D world a little perspective effect, just use the perspective object as Zeitgeist1989 said, and use som calculation to define the active objects' position (that you don't wanna put under the perspective object so that they don't look flat)
    preventing the player from wlaking in the water is not a big deal with mode7, there's some tutorials that explain how to do that

    I juct checked the Perspective object but it cannot do this because it does not allow negative values http://www.rpg-palace.com/scripts/mode07/grassland.jpg

    So the problem i am having is that the area is "zooming" instead of "Zoomingout" so the edges fall off the screen.
