    Creating objects in game

The problem I have is if i'm trying to use an object that is not active at the start of the frame, but is later created. The way I have been adding objects into the game that aren't immediately being used has been by putting them on the side of the frame where they aren't visible, but this is creating a lot of objects that aren't really needed at the start of the frame, but may or may not be needed later in the game. Is there any way to get around this?

Basically I'm asking is if there is any way to create an instance of an object without having to place the object in the frame or outside of the frame?

Yes. After you have made an action in the event editor to create an object at runtime, you can safely delete the object from the frame editor.

That's right - I tend not to do it out of paranoia, though, and just throw them into an "object store" area some distance from the frame on the top left, then destroy them on Start of Frame.

I do the same thing. That way you can edit the object or it's properties if you need to while constructing the game.

I believe that even after you destroy the object, it shows up in the list at the left side of the screen as long as there is an action for it. You can then drag that object on the left back into the screen to work with it.

    Here's another option:

Create a separate frame with all these objects, and create them when needed at runtime in your current frame. If they are created at any time during runtime, they will show up in the event editor (and they'll also show up in the frame editor if you have that selected).

It might prevent you from Destroying a huge amount of objects if you use a lot of them.

An other alternative: Make an event that says: Never: Create ~all objects~

is that how "Never" works? I thought it was to "comment out" a line...

    Re: Creating objects in game

It does, but mmf sees the "create object" actions and so won't remove the object from the app even if you delete all instances of it in the frame editor.
