    Animation GIF problems

    Heya all,

I'm a beginner in using MMF2. I created some custom bubble animations in macromedia Flash, then found out that MMF2 doesn't support flash files. So I converted the files into GIF files via macromedia Fireworks. The problem was that once the animations were passed into my application, the bubbles ended up having random lines in them where the colour was transparent, theses lines appeared at random and across most of the frames, so that when the animation runs, it looks really twitchy! But when you play the animations anywhere else (ie. in fireworks or even in Windows picture and fax viewer), they look perfectly fine and complete. I don't have a clue how to fix this, except to import the animations as Active objects and fix up every frame by hand inside the edit box, this is incredibly time consuming and the limited tools available in the edit box means that the bubbles can only really be a single colour, which looks really plain and unprofessional.

Is there any other way to fix this? Plz help!!!

    Thanks.

Can you convert the Flash file into a numbered sequence of bitmaps? (In Fireworks?) If so, do this, and import the first frame into an active object - a dialogue box will pop up asking you if you then want to import the rest of the sequence. This dialogue box has options for specifying the transparent colour.

It is possible to play Flash animations in MMF2, but it isn't exactly beginner stuff.

Could you send me one of these GIF files, or post it in the File Archive forum, just to see if I can fix the MMF2 GIF filter? Thanks!

BTW, do you use the build 243 of MMF2? I think a bug in the GIF filter has been fixed in this version.

    Re: Animation GIF problems

Thanx guys for replying. I'm downloading the build 243 now and see if it makes a difference, I'll also try to fiddle with fireworks. Btw Yves, I'd like to send you the GIF file, but this is the first time i've been on this forum, how do i attach the file in a reply to your post?

    Thanks so much!

You can only attach files in the file archives section.
