Install creator and windows Vista (compat. issue)

Hello after making an installer with clickteam installer. When I try to install this application (its actually a stationary for windows mail) I get the following error: (see screenshot)
    http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/1894/screenie1yq2.jpg

It installs correctly and it works, however after the process ends I get the above message. I think its some compatibility issue with the clikteam installer and vista...

Can you confirm this, and if so are you going to fix it so its vista compatible? thanks in advance!

What version of Install Creator do you use? The latest build is the build #28, you can download it from the Download section of this site.

PS: could you send me your .iit file? (or .iip file if you use the Pro version) So that I can check if I see something that could let Vista to think the program was not installed correctly.

It seems your installer doesn't install anything... is this normal?

I think its a problem with vista and install creator...
Not sure. When you run an installer, Vista's Program Compatibility Assistant tries to detect if the installer did install several things (uninstaller, etc.). If it thinks something is wrong, it displays this warning message.

Re: Install creator and windows Vista (compat. issue)

My name is Tracy and I'm the one that 'unbreakable' has been trying to help.

Some people still don't know how to extract OE Stationery files from a zip file (or Windows Mail stationery). So, to help them out, I create .exe files for them. All they have to do is run the file and the files get extracted to their stationery folder for Outlook Express. In XP, it was easy because all the files could be extracted in the same place, as all stationery locations were the same on everyones computer:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery
In Vista, it's always different because of the actual user name:
    C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Stationery
And because the path is always different, the music for the stationery needs to be extracted to a location that everyone still has on Vista that they did on XP: C:\Windows\Media. The music location is important because the codes in the actual html file for the stationery need a specific and full path (beginning with C.

So, unbreakable recommended InstallCreator. After trying out about 6 others, I like this one best. But, we ran into a snag when unbreakable got the message at the end of the installation. All the files DID get extracted to the proper location and it worked.

However...the question remains: Why did he get the message? I created the .exe (from the .iit file) on WinXP for users of Vista

I sent him the wrong file for people to check out. I sent the template file...not the actual one I used to send to a friend.

The link for the .iit file I created to make the .exe file can be retrieved here:

Re: Install creator and windows Vista (compat. issue)

Thanks for uploading the settings file. I see that your installer doesn't install an entry to the Add/Remove Programs section in the Control Panel, that explains why Vista's Program Compatibility Assistant displays this warning message.

You can safely ignore this message. To remove the message, you have to select the "Add entry in Control Panel" option in the Uninstaller tab in IC.
