Changing single word colors

IS it possible, with String parser or something to make a certain word a different color? If you type in "I like apples", The screen displays, "I like [color:#CC0000]apples[/color]". If this is impossible just say so.

Possible I would recommend using the rft object, and looping trough the text, and when its find select it and colour it

Or the formatted text object. I expect there are examples lying around.

I was using the rich edit object. But how would I do it? Joshtek said there was an example.

That is a good example but it doesn't accomplish what I need. I want the user to be able to type in text and when a certain word pops up it is put in red. I really need to be able to do this with the rich edit object.
