Pls help with color palette

In the Picture Editor:

MMF1 hi-lites the colour that u shift/left click on.

When I do this in MMF2 the little box that surrounds the colours on the palette doesnt move at all.
Is there some setting I have to set or tick in order for the box to go to the colour that I shift/left click on in the main picture? I need to know where the chosen colour is on the palette.

I am using the 256 colour palette.

I believe the feature you are referring to is the "colour picker".

You can access this through the 'color picker' tool, shift-clicking on a pixel, or via the right-mouse-click button (provided this is your desired use for the button as defined in the settings dialogue).

Instead of it highlighting the colour in the palette, there are two colours below the palette which represent the foreground and background colours currently selected.

With MMF1 when u pick the colour the box moves to the colour on the palette and so I know where it is on the palette and I can choose the lighter or darker colour before or after it.

With MMF2 there is the same box but it doesnt move to the selected colour on the palette, it just shows u what colour/s u have picked and not where they r on the palette.

What Im trying to establish is, is this something I have to set or is it not supported in MMF2?

For me in 256-colour mode it shows where it is in the pallette. If you are using more colours then it won't always work because not all of the colours are listed in the palette.

What build of MMF2 do you use? I think this bug was fixed in a patch (i.e. when you pick a color, it's automatically selected in the color palette, unless this color is not in the palette).

I had the game set at 32k colours and once I converted it to 256 colours that box works perfectly but not when its 32k.

MMF1 used to move the box to any colour I selected unless it was not in the palette then it just remained where it was.

With the graphics mode set to 32k it NEVER selects the colour, the box remains on black ALWAYS.

Hmm looks like I have to convert the game to 256 colours but thats a lot of graphic touch ups
