    Jumping [2 qs]

    Hey all,
    1. Is it possible to have 3 jump levels like in "Mario"? I want it to to be like the application below but have one more jump level to it. Shift is jump on the application below btw. If you tap jump you get the lowest lvl. If you hold it for a while, you'll get the medium lvl. If you hold it to anywhere longer than 1 second, then you get the third lvl (of course he has to fall down even when you are still holding the shift button).
    2. Is it possible to make the time he takes when going from the jumping to the falling faster? Right now, if my character jumps to the second lvl (not so much on the first...lowest lvl), he hangs in midair for a while and then falls kind of slowly. I want to speed this whole process up like in "Mario".

Whoever edits this... think of the "Mario" for a reference to jump levels and jump speeds.
    Thanks,

Have you tried the Platform Movement Object? With that you can change the jumpstrength and gravity during runtime.

For jumps to be faster you should increase the gravity and jump strength.

    Re: Jumping [2 qs]

    1. Your advice doesn't help me for making a triple jump level.
    2. Look at the Attachment Popcorn!
    3. I tried to increase gravity and jump strength... it makes you go up faster, but when you start falling and the user is holding down the jump button, he falls slower and it takes forever(sorry I explained this kind of badly at the top). Try adjusting MY ATTACHMENT and show me if it is possible to do a triple jump level or if you can make the falling movement faster (trust me... I tried everything. The platform movement object commands are very overiding commands as you will find out). Send me back your edited version on this post please.
    Thanks,

    Re: Jumping [2 qs]

Here is my edited version of the best possible jump speed to gravity ratios. I put gravity at 80 and jump speed as 2000. As you can see... it still doesn't work good on the falling part if the user holds down the jump button. Why can't he fall faster!?!?

Hmm fixed falling movement... need the jumping movement to be faster now (I need him not to decelerate)... like in Mario. Still can't figure out how to do a triple jump level. Here is the most recent version of dbljump.
    Thanks,

    Re: Jumping [2 qs]

I have something that I did in TGF 1 that might help with this actually ... but I don't have MMF or MMF2 ... or even TGF2 ... I want to learn TGF 1 well first and then I'll purchase the others, but it is hard to find help ...

I would have to e-mail you it, and you'd probably need to download good ole' TGF 1 if you don't have it in order to view it. It's in .gam format ...

It's not exactly a triple jump, but if you tap the key it'll jump slightly, hold it in a bit it'll go higher, hold it in all the way to the cut off point and it'll stop at it and keep holding it and it will fall slowly, and let go and it will fall faster. ... and you could probably add a few short events of extra Alterable values to turn it into a Triple jump.

And you can change the values I have only slightly to make it jump higher or lower, or faster or slower.

I don't have a way to upload though, so I'd have to e-mail you it ... I'm gonna take a look at some hosting sites .. I'm getting tired of not being able to send examples easily ..

Couldn't you just post here, in the file archive? There's a "File Manager" link in the post options. Though if it is in TGF format, you have to use the file archive meant for older products.
