Best way to handle large number of objects

My game has a play area with a number of objects that are present when the game begins. For example, there are trees, which the player can't move through. I can create these manually on the background layer and set collision events on each one - this is fine for when there aren't many objects but this seems pretty tedious for a large number of objects that are basically identical. Worse because there are players that aren't created until after the game starts. Is there any way that I can write an event/script that will create numerous objects when the frame starts and setup various events on each object.

    learn how to use fastloops.

this way you can set up as many objects as you want at the start of the frame and it will only take a microsecond to set them up.

As bigredron said, for setting up objects at the start of runtime, you can use fastloops. For your problem with programming collision events for each tree, you can give each of the trees the same qualifier and just make the events for only that qualifier.
