Large Game; How do you load levels sepeately?

I have a long game planned out and I finished 4 frames. It's an RPG, so the frames are big. After I made the first two, it loaded fine, but now it takes forever to run the app. Is there a way to make it just load the first frame when starting the game and then load the second after the player leaves the first? Can I build the levels separately as different applications and then make an application that will load each other level at the right time?

Yes, that is very possible by using the File object. However, to load frames separetly you will need somone else's help.

One of the possible solutions (which may be problem if you've already coded much) is to make your game data driven and not hard-coded...

That would mean that your level would be generic, and possibly only one frame would be run for ALL levels, which are then defined by separate files that tells where is what in the level... This of course can be tricky to make, but each has its pro's and cons...

The other solution (which may prove to be very slow is to use subapplications)... The third solution is to make each lvl in separate file and then run one app from the another. I did this a while ago, so it works. But it too can be tricky...

I'll try running each application from another. Thanks.
