    Ummm... Why not convert them to OGG?

    EDIT: Oh right, if you are making a player program, that step might be a bit redundant.

    There's quite a point. I primarily make .NSF files, and converting them to ogg makes a ~24KB music file into a possible 240KB music file, and takes away a lot of the quality.

    You make NSF files? That's neat.
    Anyway, there is an extension in development that can use winamp plugins to play music, so you can go from there. (:

    That's good. Does it rely on users having Winamp installed, or can I just include the plugin with the program and have it work?

    There are a few trackers specifically for nsf out there, like Famitracker. There's also MML, but it's much harder to use. It does have more features, though.

    I don't know much about this Winamp object, but I guess that you only need to include the NSF input plugin for Winamp with your game.

    yeh, you only need the winamp input dll
    but obvesly you need permission from the authour to use it
