    super mario bros ds water

okay, well I have been working on a platformer for quite some time now and have been admiring the water and water physics from New supemario bros DS. Admiring is not enough:P and I would really like to create this water or water that acts around the same way in mmf2. Sadly I have not the faintest idea of how to do this? If this is possible and if anyone could help me. Thanks a ton!

here's a video of New supemario bros

you can see the water physics at 4:01 in the movie

I think it's possible, but I betcha it will be better once hardware Accelleration comes out for MMF2!
I would betach one way to do it would be:
1 large blue object (with SemiTrans turned on)
1 "top of the water" animation that sits on top of the 1 large ble object
1 "splash" object that animates once when your mario dude collides (or is overlapping) the "top ofthe water" object...

Yoiu could probably also have an invisible object that is set to always be at your mario's X, and it will always ride on top of the big blue object.. then if your mario hits it and your mario's Y is above the big blue object, it'll create a spash object or something like that...

    Just some suggestions...

it turned out decently but not very smooth or impressive looking, I was wondering if this could be done with some sort of particle effect?

You have to try the Flame Object, and have a look at the tutorials.
