You can't fix it, its a security thing with DirectX.
You would have to make a cheap hack which might go wrong or be detected as a virus

What does security have to do with it. If it's losing access to the graphics card, then it's losing access to it. I don't see any security issues involved. Plus, who build a virus off of DirectX if for no reason but to show ultra realistic 3D porn on someones desktop. I see no practical use of high jacking a video card or DirectX, for there be security involved, nor do I see how this links with locking the PC. Please correct me if I'm wrong, my intentions aren't to be rude.

If every DirectX HWA app has this same problem I don't think it can be fixed I am sure Yves will take a look and do what he can but if others haven't fixed it there must be a reason why.

    Yes you are wrong BrandonC
It cannot be fixed, if you want to blame something, blame microsoft for implementing it

It is very fixable.. You have to check if the runtime lost the handle, and then attempt to recreate it, upload all textures again (to the graphics card) and so on. It's a mess to do, but it is fixable.

The reason most apps crash after that is because they weren't programmed for it.

Chalk it up to an undocumented feature of windows.

Is there a way for the MMF app to detect it? (maybe the key combo or something?)

Andos is right. I have seen many games and applications responding well to windows lock up.

Re: HWA Apps Not too happy after you lock your PC

For info, I said in another thread (I think) that I would have a look later (probably when I'll fix the full screen options). If this is just a "lost device" issue it should be possible to fix it as Andos said.
