    Re: Sprite Replacing

Jacob are you using MMF 2 with HWA or MMF 1.5?

Your email said MMF 1.5 so I am confused on why this is in the MMF 2 HWA forum?

    Re: Sprite Replacing

I had a post on the older products forum, but then i saw this thread, and it's the exact same problem i'm having so i continued my discussion here. I'm using MMF1.5 until i complete this project, yes. Unless i can somehow afford to purchase MMF2 and find updated versions of the multitude of extensions i'm using.

It seems the problem may not actually be related to HWA since a lot of different users are having the same problem whether using it or not.

    Re: Sprite Replacing

    Hmmm strange.

It would be nice to know if its a HWA problem or a regular problem. This is the MMF2 HWA forum.

What we need to look into it would be
A current release build MMF2 MFA that shows the problem so Yves can look into the file and see whats going on.

Or if its only happening in the MMF2 HWA beta and not the last MMF2 release build a note here saying that.

    Re: Sprite Replacing

The first two posts in this thread state that it happened first with HWA, and then still happened when removing it. The second post is a carbon copy of the problem i'm having and i'm using MMF1.5. I also had this problem in a project YEARS ago that i was working on in TGF. That's what's making me think it's not actually HWA. If it were JUST actives, or JUST backdrops, and happened consistently, i'd know where to start fixing it in my application. The first time i saw a frame of a monster in my game replaced by graphics from a backdrop in ANOTHER FRAME i just had to sit and stare for a minute, trying to come up with a reason it could POSSIBLY do that. I thought i had a pretty decent understanding of the inner workings of MMF until i saw that. I'd be more than happy to send you my file. But it's huge, requires a folder of data files, and was built with MMF1.5. If you can deal with all that, then i'll get the email ready to go....haha.

Yeah, so the bug is back for me.

I was really hoping to release Bonesaw, well, tomorrow, but now discovering that most of the game is now totally screwed up... well, I dont know.

    Re: Sprite Replacing

    From what I can tell this is only happening AFTER an install of MMF2HWA Beta. The question is why. Is the HWA setup replacing any of the core files of MMF2? I don't think it is, so I can't really imagine WHY the sprite banks (thats what the problem is, I imagine) are getting corrupted, and why it should affect anything. Perhaps the question is if MMFS2.dll is going into system32, and the HWA is marked as a newer version than the regular build, so reinstalling the regular build does NOT replace it... I haven't a clue. Sounds like Yves and co. are in for a fun time trying to fix this. I'd like to know what the problem is (;

    Re: Sprite Replacing

A handy thing I always do is save all my graphics, that way if my game get's somhow messed up it won't be a toatol loss. But I still have no idea how to use the back-ups that MMF2 has... .001 ?! What's .001 ?

It's a file. You can open it in MMF2.
