    Sub-app transparent background?

I have a frame that acts as a sub-application (a menu) in my game. Is is possible to set the background of this frame as transparent?

    Thanks!

You can use the Window Shape object to give your Sub-App complete transparent and complete opaque areas, but not partial transparent areas.

    How can I do that?
All I see are shape actions.

In MMF1.5 you could. In MMF2 you have to use Sphax' extension, which is dev-only... Can't remember the extension's name

Yes, Sphax Kernel object can change the semi-transparency of the window.

Oooh, another reason to get MMF2 Dev besides e-mail object.

Can it make everything transparent ecxept the objects and backdrops? (e.g. the white background of the level is transparent)
Working as fast as I can on Fusion 3

    Re: Sub-app transparent background?

My comment on another thread explains how to solve this if your subapp is a menu:

    http://www.clickteam.com/epicenter/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=76505#post76505

In brief, you take a photo of the screen using Capture Object just before opening your subapp menu. The subapp menu has an Active Picture Object in the background which then loads the screenshot.

You can then have alpha objects in the subapp, and they LOOK like they're blending with the background. They're not of course, they're just blending with a screenshot. But the user won't know that.

It's a workaround that's served me well for years, it worked in MMF1.5, and it works just as well in MMF2.
