    MMO

Hey, this is my first post, and I have a question. Is it possible to make an online game? Or, to be more specific, an MMO?

    Re: MMO

*laughs* I think this question has been asked 99999,999999 , 99999 times alone.
There are a couple of MMO's already made with MMF , one is called atulos online and the other is smiley house.

but beware, it is the huge undertaking from hell, you will face the wrath of god, hell, 17 storms, the 4 horseman and the apocolypse trying to make one and that doesnt include long exausting nights of graphics, items, database and endless code...

but thats the answer thats the same with any engine, even realmcrafter...

but all in all the simple answer.. Yes.. it is possible.

    Re: MMO

Know that an online game is a TON harder to make as a single player game. An MMO is a TON harder to make then say a 64 player online game.

Unless you have an a team of developers I would shy away from the MMO. Also MMO's are harder to distribute as you will need dedicated servers.

    Re: MMO

Actually a game holding 64 players would easily fit into mmo depending on how games are held and joined.

I must agree with Jikito making a mmo by yourself is like climing a ladder to the moon... with you eyes closed... while carrying a car... without ozygen... while Simultaneously perfectiong deuterium based sustainable coldfusion.

That said trying would be a great way to learn and a lot of fun, and if you get a reasonable engine you can be sure people will be intrested to get on board.

    Re: MMO

Lots of hobbyist game creators really want to make an MMO of some sort (me included). However, you're probably not at that level of skill with MMF2 yet. The best thing to do is just to give it a go, find out if you can and can't do it (since it is very possible) and then either give up till you can do it, or finish it.

    Re: MMO

The whole click community should make an mmo; every time someone comes up with a better piece of code i should replace the old code until we have a fully working and fun mmo.

    Re: MMO

Could you please stop calling people "noobs"? It's a very derogatory term and this isn't a gaming forum
