    Re: mmorpg

Multilayer online games have been made in Fusion (e.g. SmileyHouse, Atu'los, Flanville). They are big undertakings, tho.

If you don't want to go with a public server then these are your choices...

    Windows:
TGF/CNC/MMF/MMF2 (just use the host action of the MooClick object - traditionally seen as bad for MMORPGs due to uptime and usage issues)
    Jamagic (Use the MOO object)

    Linux:
    MOS4Linux (passive server)

    Multi-platform:
Andrew's JavaMOS (closed source but extendible and stable)
SteveTaylor's Java Software (sourcecode released under zlib license)

    Re: mmorpg

If you're really serious about it, write your server in C++ / C# or anything else that compiles debugable and maintainable applications. And then use MMF for the client/user interface.

So. Come back when you got that server written and we'll tell you how to make the client for it

    http://www.dotnetarchitects.it/default.aspx?Content=articles&ID=5

    i don't understand a thing...
i've a client that send packets to a server that i build
what i must put on the server? the server game built in mmf?

the server is like if i create a mmorpg with the host on my pc and all the other connect to me?
so i must install the game on the server like a virtual real pc?

excuse me for confusion but someone expert gives this things easier but if some one must start new

    what i need materialy

an host where build a server and a mmf server side to install on the server where other connect?

thks a lot for your patience

ps can i realize a php server?
every webspace is ok for this? i've altervista with query level 6
with this i dont need mooserver?

the cms joomla (i know that i don't know diff cms and server... ) but can i use the database of joomla to registre new member can i implement it in mmf?!

    Re: mmorpg

it's to hard to setup a server, but i found another way to make mmorpg it's not customizable like mmf..but it's a lot of easier
but parallel i'll continue my big rpg offline with my favourite software mmf2 that is the best in the world
