Input object for code/password and such?

I'm used to using Marcelo's Input Object for entering a password. There only is one problem with this object, it always appears at the left top of the screen no matter where I do create it.

Now I want it to appear at a certain position, near another object, but I can get that to work.

Here's what I want to achieve: the player walks up to a door. A message puts up that he needs to enter a code to open it. the player enters the 4 digit code and if it's correct the door will open. Marcelo's Input Object would work just fine for this, if it would appear at the right spot, which it doesn't.

Is there an object/way to achieve the same, without using Marcelo's Input Object?

What I've done in the past is just use the standard Edit object, but position it off-screen and have a String object always echo the contents of the Edit box. You can then have the on-screen text appear in any way you like.

Thanks for the help, you got me on the right track. After fidling a bit here's how I solved it.

Place the Edit object/box in the scene. Hide when unneeded, visible when needed through events.

In the events I did the following:

[Event] Edit Box text is a number >>>>>> [Action] set alterable value of the edit box to edit value
[Event] Alterable Value A of edit box = xxxx (number needed) >>>> perform action wanted
