    "dirty word" filter

I am making a kiosk which run a "mad-libs" type app in a public place

I need to create a "dirty word" filter

it would be cool if I could have an easily updateable list of words for the filter

can anyone think of an 'easy' way to sort through this kind of list?

    Dave

Easy way is to load the list of "dirty words" into a list box and run a loop.

Using string parser 2 to run the censor.
Part 4 of the Simple Chat uses this type of system.

Interesting Dave... I did a major kiosk application several years ago in VB and I really wish I had known about MMF back then! Wow this would have been a better platform to do the work in.

Does your kiosk setup use touch screens?

Make sure you don't end up with the Scunthorpe Problem.

since this will be in a children's museum the project manager will likely choose to err on the side of caution...

This project will use touch screens, which I have come to really like, though I find myself touching plain screens after a day of playing with the touch screens

the simple chat part 4 was most instructive

    Thanks!
