    Rotating an object using the Direction Calculator

    Hai!

    I don't usually ask for help in forums, as I'm quite an advanced programmer.

    Anyway, I used to be able to smoothly rotate an object to a direction using the Direction calculator, but I have since forgotten how

    I have searched TDC and couldn't really find what I was looking for, and I tried to search here but the search feature seems temperamental @_@!

    (I'm actually thinking there's probably a way to do it nowadays using MMF2's rotate feature... somehow...)

    Anyway, if anyone could give me a push in the right direction Id be very grateful, and probably credit you in my game for your help

    Adam

    If you can switch over to the Advanced direction extension it has a nice example in the example folder under MMF

    Hmmmm I don't think that is quite what I mean... the object will be static and every 1 second rotate to the next direction...

    Re: Rotating an object using the Direction Calcula

    in the dir calc. put rotate object toward direction;
    it willl ask 2 questions.
    1st, what direction you want to point at,
    2nd, object - via selector.

    (this will smoothly rotate the object to the desired direction)

    imo the dir calc is a more useful object than Adv, direc object.

    you could as you've suggested use MMF2's rotate - ie under object set angle to (x)
