    Parallax Scrolling

    Sorry if this question have been asked before, but I couldn't find this question with the forum's search function.

    I would like to implement parallax scrolling (multiple levels of background scrolling at different speed) in my game, like many 16-bit games featured. I am new to MMF2, so I don't know if there is an easy way to do this.

    However in TGF(1) I tried to get this effect by various small active objects at different speed. This way I could make different levels of stars or clouds scrolling though the screen. But I would like to have multiple levels of background which loop infinitely, not just some objects. I could maybe create activeobjects in the size of the whole screen's width and let them move through the screen, but I imagine this would cost more ressources then neccessary for this task.

    Anyone here has already experience with this kind of scrolling?

    Ah this can be done, there is a tutorial on the side there -> click on it and scroll down until you see one on scrolling and click it, you should get a .pdf on scrolling and paralaxing, it helped me.

    Yes, i think it was a bad design choice to have the layers toolbar hidden by default... i bet MANY people miss this feature because it is so hidden.

    There's also a paralaxer object which is used to make 3D backgrounds

    Layers are AWESOME.

    For example, make a topmost layer and throw your inventory or status screen on it. It's very easy to then use the layer object to show or hide everything all at once. Probably the best change from 1.5 to 2.0 in my opinion.
