    C# Extension Development

Would it be possible to develop extensions in C#?

    Re: C# Extension Development

Actual extension development is not possible with this object. Could I somehow create an extension, in C#, that would show up in the Insert Object dialog, the frame editor, and event editor?

    No, I don't think so.
You need to use C++ to create the extension.

You can use the .net framework in creating an extension though.

I heard framework languages are interchangeable, so half of your extension can be C++ while the other half is C#.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean, but if I do, you're completely wrong.

You can use different languages in the .net platform, but extensions cannot be in C# (or any .net language actually).

    Re: C# Extension Development

You can use the framework that the C# (and vb.net) languages use (the .net framework) in c++ the c++ way, which is not too dissimilar from c#, it's much the same but with -> and :: and ^ and gcnew

How would I do this? And what exactly is a framework?

I find them to be very different. C++ has pointers and quite different looking syntax.

Not directly, although it would be possible to write some sort of bridge in c++ that would allow you to execute c# code. This means that you could write some sort of wrapper in c++ and then make an SDK in C# which could be used for extension development... although this would be a rather large project.
