    Importing Images

(On the dangerous verge of GIVING UP.)

As much as I love Multimedia Fusion 2, I can't say I like much of the changes to the Animation Editor, but that is beside the point.

I am using Adobe Flash to draw some of all of my characters. During a brief test run that ended in me having to use these incredibly irritating work-arounds, I got my product. It wasn't satisfactory though. Once again, sort of beside the point.

Is there anyone alive out there that can tell me a decent (free) animating program I can use to make large, hand-drawn animations that can be imported into MMF2 as animations? I can export Flash movies as Animated GIFs, but MMF2 horribly maims it.

After all this extensive planning of a potentially cool game, THIS happens. Like I stated, I am on the DANGEROUS verge of GIVING UP.

Have you tried the build #248 of MMF2 ? (or TGF2 as you are in the TGF2 forum) It addresses an issue in the GIF importation filter.

MMF2 also crashes when importing .avi videos.

Ah, I didn't notice that this was in the wrong Forum. Can it be moved?

As for build 248, I have 247, and it says that I am up to date.

    Re: Importing Images

Thanks for the move and making me aware of the MMF Build 248. However, let me add something to my importing animations thing.
(I do not know if the new build will fix this)

Even when exporting frames of an object in Adobe Flash as BMPs, importing them into MMF caused them to 'half import' them. In other words, it would cut the picture in half down the middle, put the original right side on the left and the original left side on the right in different colors. (???)

I don't get it, when I open them in any other application (MS Paint etc.) they are fine. Bah!

    Re: Importing Images

Weird, could you send me BMP files that you can't import?

    Re: Importing Images

OK, I found a work around for now. Instead of exporting as BMPs, I am using PNGs. (Didn't initially think of that) But I will attach the BMPs.

I guess I have to do that in the other forum...
