    Jit-tery-walk-ing-anim-ation

    Hey, Clickteam. Me again.

I'm still not really grasping a lot of MMF2; as a result, I've hit another probably-easy-to-fix problem: Whenever my character completes a single walking animation and walks the distance he can clear in one animation, he seems to stop and then start walking again. As a result, he walks a short distance, stops for a fraction of a second, and then repeats, instead of just walking smoothly. It's jerky, frustrating, and something I'd rather not ignore.

How can I fix this so I stop. Walking. Like. This. ?.

Do you have loop animations set?

If you mean that little checkbox under 'Direction Options,' then yes, it's checked.

If you mean something else, then no, that doesn't ring a bell.

Is the animation(walking) always being turned on while you walk or just at the start?

Also, its a wise decision to turn off the 'fine detection' in the object properties, otherwise the sprite will always be 'dropping' so to speak, any time the graphic lifts off the ground. Try that and see if it helps.

    Re: Jit-tery-walk-ing-anim-ation

    Fine detection was already off...

How weird. When I duck, and there's only one frame of animation, I can move just fine...

Perhaps if you can upload your file someplace a few of us can take a look. Its a hard issue to diagnose without seeing it in action.

Make sure all of the frame in the animation are the same size and the hotspots are the same.

    Re: Jit-tery-walk-ing-anim-ation

OK, I did that, Joey, and now, once again, I either can only walk in place (w/ Looping) or walk a short distance and then wind up back where I started (w/o looping).

And fine detection is off, before anyone suggests that.

What the Hell? I'm just going in circles here! >_<

Well I guess that really depends on your coding.

And by 'stop' do you mean the character stops its animation, or it stops moving?
