Sample frequency limit

So, I'm working on a tracker-like music studio in MMF2. I'm using the "set sample frequency" function to alter the pitch of WAV samples to simulate instrumental notes, and everything is going really well, until I notice that it doesn't go higher than 100000Hz (which sounds like a lot, but really isn't). My project is doomed unless I can get MMF to play samples at higher frequencies, so I have two questions:

1: Are there any alternatives? MMF1.5 had the DMC2 object, which could play WAV files at any frequency, but I haven't been able to find an MMF2 version of the extension anywhere!

2: Could this be changed, in a future build perhaps? 100000Hz seems like a fairly arbitrary limit?

Try the Onu object.

I downloaded the Onu object, and it seems nice, except it has the exact same limitation: The maximum playback frequency is 100000Hz
